From 19 to 21 September Tashkent hosted the City Wushu Cup — a competition that brought together the youngest athletes and experienced masters.
Wushu is a remarkable martial art where strength meets grace and discipline meets artistry. Spectators saw different styles: Changquan (“Long Fist”), Nanquan (“Southern Fist”), spectacular acrobatic forms, and performances with swords, staffs and spears.
Our young Inventors competed in the 5–6 and 7–8 age groups with the basic Changquan 32 (“Long Fist”) routine. It combines stances, punches and kicks, and as children grow the form becomes more complex and fills with acrobatic elements.
